It is aimed at anyone who would like to gain a practical “hands on” understanding of how to plan a project or any major activity. The course teaches you step-by-step how to plan your next project . You will learn and practice key techniques to plan scope, activities, resources, quality, risk and time; along with getting an insight into some of the more common planning tools that are used by many project and program managers today. 

You will also understand in detail the concept to planning, what makes effective plans, and the different types of plans that may be needed and how they are used. Much of the terminology used in planning will be explained to you in plain english. The course is highly interactive and case studies and small group exercises are used throughout to demonstrate the practical application of planning.

It is aimed at anyone who is interested or involved in leading change in their team, workplace or organisation. The course looks at the current thinking round leadership in change, what makes effective leaders and the important role they play in the change process. 

Through facilitated discussion you will also explore the different styles and skills that leaders tend to adopt, and understand how these may be also be used by you back in your own change environment. The course does not presume any prior training in managing change and therefore will also cover areas that explain what drives people to adopt or resist change. Running a PMO

This 1 day training course forms part of GXO Change’s “Hands On” Series of training programs. It is aimed at anyone who may be joining, setting up or running a project or program management office (PMO). The course looks at the current thinking around PMOs, their function, and typical roles and responsibilities. The course goes on to investigate the applicability of PMOs in the latest best practice guidance issued by the OGC on Portfolio, Program and Project Offices (P3O®*), 

Through facilitated discussion the course will also explore the value proposition of a PMO to an organisation, and the range of services and functions that may be needed. In considering this, students will also gain an an understanding of the typical techniques and tools that may be used in Support Offices along with Centres-of Excellence. This course is highly interactive and uses small group exercises and discussions to understand the practical nature of running a PMO.
